Airports seem to be getting worse. The written poem is below.
Flight I got hit with a delay today which seems the norm, airport lounges turn into dorms, The schedule here's a mess, I stay positive, at least I try my best. I think back to when flights left as planned, every station was manned and 4 o'clock meant 4 o'clock Should I be thankful my flight didn't get canceled? The airlines cancel on us but don't let us cancel on them, tell me How is that fair? This burden we bear We fork over our money, I find it kinda funny They expect us to take it, disregard our time, they offer us wine but don't hear our whines treat us like swine give us vouchers to dine Airports are now shopping malls, stores along every hall, built into every wall, they're here to take Not take us from one place to another, but to take away, the money we've earned, it's easy to burn On the flight the seats get smaller, water costs a few dollars a baby cries before the plane flies, people play music outloud, I'd do anything, to get away from this crowd We built a world where it's cheaper to fly than take the train, it hurts my brain, what a shame, still glad I came, despite my climate impact. Airlines on a mission to get us to pay for our emissions even though every time I walk through those curved doors their profits soar, we feel sore sitting cramped for hours. It's loud, it smells, my head rings bells, why do I do this when it's hot outside hell, I don't know. I'm just stuck on an airplane.
Great job, Mike! I added a link to your "Flight" poem to my Playlist on air flight from last September! They seem to go well together! Hope you don't mind if I put my article link here: https://bradkyle.substack.com/p/grow-bigger-ears-5-the-audio-autopsy
